Clinical governance framework: collaborating for quality draft feedback

7 Mar 2024

Update 7 March 2024: Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission appreciates all of the feedback provided on the draft Collaborating for quality: a framework for governance.

Considering all feedback and making changes to the document are important parts of the process of development. We continue to make steady progress on reviewing and incorporating feedback and will provide a further update in due course.

1 November 2023: Te Tāhū Hauora is seeking feedback from people within the health sector and from consumers and whānau on the draft clinical governance framework: collaborating for quality.

The framework aims to guide the health sector to continuously improve the quality of health services through robust clinical governance and emphasises the importance of robust clinical governance to clarify roles and responsibilities and foster a culture of shared learning. The draft framework reflects the legislative and system changes in the health sector and builds on our previous  clinical governance guidance (2017).

Please click on this link to access both the framework and the feedback survey:

The draft framework is also available at the bottom of this page.

If you have further questions about the framework or the feedback survey, please email us at

Feedback closes on Wednesday 22 November.
